The Department of Botany at the School of Natural Science of Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU) is offering a highly a contemporary BSc program in Botany that has been prepared as per the recommendations of NEP 2020. The program is designed to be maximum of 4 years with 8 semesters, with multiple entry and exit options. The department with its carefully structured curriculum, experienced faculty and well-equipped laboratories, is dedicated to providing the students with a comprehensive understanding of both traditional knowledge and latest developments in the field of plant sciences. The program emphasizes on both theory and practical skills where students will be engaged in acquiring hands-on training through rigorous laboratory work, internship and will also be encouraged to gain a holistic learning experience through research projects. Additional training in subjects other than plant sciences will be an integral part of the curriculum. Graduates from this program will be adequately trained to pursue careers in both academia and industry.
(a) Pass in HS/(10+2) examination in Science Stream.
(b) Must not be less than 17 years of age on 1st August of the year in which the admission is sought.
