The School of Natural Sciences aims to focus on research and teaching at the undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D levels on Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany and Zoology. It aims to offer a wider range of opportunities in the areas related to natural science.
The basic science departments of this school were constituted in 2006, for the undergraduate programs in B.Tech and have carried their legacies to enter into the new milestone, Girijananda Chowdhury University. This School will promote interdisciplinary research and encourage the students to think independently and apply their skills across disciplinary boundaries upholding the basic human values of liberty, justice and equality.
Courses offered under the School of Natural Sciences encompass a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes.
The school of Natural Sciencesof Girijananda Chowdhury University provides both UG and PG courses in Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. In addition PhD programmes in each subject is also available. Integrated programmes leading to PhD is a new initiative of the school.Each department is proud to have highly qualified faculties with excellent academic careers as reflected in their various publications and research projects undertaken. Well equipped state of the art laboratories, ICT enabled teaching and well stocked library facilities facilitates both learning and research activities. Interactive sessions such as seminars, talks and hands on training programmes are regular features of the department in order to achieve greater academic excellence.Collaboration with national and international institutions help in exchange of ideas and concepts among the best in the business. Student-teacherexchange programme with reputed institutions has always been in practice for broadening the learning environment. In short the School of Natural Sciences of GCU is thriving hard to acquire its goal of becoming a centre forexcellence in scientific studies and research in the entire NE region as well as in the whole country.
