Engaging and powerfully responding to the challenges and opportunities of our times, the academics in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences include undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and research initiatives in disciplines ranging from English, Economics, Sociology, Social Work, Political Science, Psychology and History with the option of double major, forming an interdisciplinary array of research scholars with global perspectives and a culture of inclusion.

The core mission of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences is to inculcate knowledge, critical thinking, creative expression and intellectual curiosity. Our prime focus is to prepare the students for a variety of careers so that they excel in their future endeavours as well as prepare the students to meet the requirements of the contemporary world.
Our school includes seven departments: English and Foreign Languages, Economics, History, Political Science, Social Work, Sociology and Psychology. It also includes two centres: the Centre for Performing Arts and the Centre for Modern Indian Languages. We are dedicated to include interdisciplinary researches; student learning and public programming that would surely break new grounds by addressing urgent questions of social relevance.
