Eligibility

As per Bar Council of India (BCI) Rule, a candidate opting for admission to the Five-Year Course must have: Candidates must have passed HS (10+2) in any stream with 45% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation to SC/ST/OBC-Non-Creamy Layer).

Admission Procedure

  •  Admission into the First Semester of Five-Year Integrated courses shall be on the basis of an Entrance Examination conducted by the Centre for Legal Studies, Girijananda Chowdhury University.
  •  Admission shall be purely on merit basis.
  •  Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 are also eligible to appear in the entrance examination, provided they fulfil the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
  •  The date of Entrance Examination will be notified by the Centre for Legal Studies, Girijananda Chowdhury University.
  •  The total marks for Entrance Examination is 100. The Examination pattern consists 90 MCQs [each MCQs carry 1 mark] and 1 subjective question [10 marks]. No negative Marking
  •  The result of the Entrance Examination and the merit list will be put up in website of Girijananda Chowdhury University – www.gcuniversity.ac.in.

Dress Code

The students will have to follow dress code while attending class lectures on all working days as well as College functions, meetings and public lectures. The prescribed dresses are provided below-

Winter Session:

The Centre for Legal Studies, Girijananda Chowdhury University offers a full-time five-year integrated B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) programme approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The programme has an intake capacity of 60 students in one section and is designed to provide a strong foundation in both social sciences and legal studies.

In addition to core law subjects, students can pursue specialized Honours courses in the following areas:

  • Constitutional and Administrative Law
  • Corporate and Commercial Law
  • Criminal and Security Law

The programme aims to develop competent legal professionals through a blend of academic excellence, practical training, research orientation, and skill-based learning. With experienced faculty, moot court activities, legal aid initiatives, internships, and industry exposure, the course equips students with the knowledge and skills required for successful careers in litigation, judiciary, corporate law, public service, academia, and other legal professions.
