The Department of Commerce aims at enabling the students with knowledge and expertise in the field of commerce, accountancy, management, finance and business. It enables the students to learn and discover the various causes of success and failures of different business enterprises in the context of economic issues and challenges. It provides the area of education which develops the required knowledge, attitudes and skills for successful heading of Trade, Commerce and Industry and thereby discovering the best possible ways to deal with the economic and financial problems both at national and international levels. A graduate student from Commerce is expected to fulfil the needs and requirements of professional accounting studies as the course structure and curriculum have been designed keeping in view the market policies and trends.
The students will be benefitted with the understanding of how to contribute their knowledge, skills and abilities towards the growth and development of financial system. Further, the students with be inspired to acquire skills and discover talents that will have greater impacts on their personal growth and society.
Moreover, from the academic perspective, the students will be able to nurture their activities in various research related work through conferences, seminars, quizzes, debate competitions, workshops and visit to any industrial, financial or regulatory institutions of their choice for internship programmes. The curriculum of Commerce at GCU has been framed in such a way that students will get the opportunity to gain insight and explore themselves to the technical and administrative area.
