Dr. Kriti Phukan joined the Department of Commerce, Girijananda Chowdhury University as an Assistant Professor in April 2023. Currently, she is teaching courses in Accounting, Finance and related areas under the Commerce curriculum. Prior to joining GCU, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Bimala Prasad Chaliha College, Nagarbera. She has over 8 years of teaching experience in the areas of Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Management, and Auditing.
She was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Commerce from Bodoland University, Kokrajhar, in 2026. Her doctoral research was titled “Adoption of Ethos from Bhagavad Gita in Managing Human Resource in Select Public Enterprises of Assam.” She completed her M.Com in Accounts and Finance from Gauhati University and her B.Com with a major in Accountancy from Gauhati Commerce College. Her research interests include Indian Philosophy in the context of Management, particularly the application of traditional Indian knowledge and philosophical principles to contemporary management practices.
Apart from academics, she is passionate about travelling, learning new things, experiencing different cultures, and capturing memories for a lifetime. She also enjoys dancing, watching films, and photography. She constantly strives to create a positive and engaging learning environment for students, enabling them to utilise their competencies and inspiring them to pursue academic and personal excellence.
