GCU has a good Research Cell to promote the research activities in NE region. The purpose of the PhD programme in Commerce is to explore various Research work in the innovative field of industry, trade and commerce. The University has the full conviction of maintaining a team of dedicated faculties as PhD supervisor. As of now under commerce department one full time faculty with past experience has been engaged as PhD supervisor. He has the credit of supervising two PhD scholars under Rabindranath Tagore University and one scholar under his co-guidance from Royal Global University has been awarded the Doctoral Degree. Another Visiting Faculty with multifaceted skills in Management, Law and Finance, in addition to Commerce has the credit of producing as many as 9 PhD under Gauhati University and has expressed his willingness to extend his support to supervise PhD scholars in the Department of Commerce of GCU.
Under School of Management and Commerce there are total 9 Teaching Faculties out of them 6 are PhD holders and other 3 are Scholars (including 1 scholar having submitted the thesis.) Presently there are as many as 16 Scholars (till end term monsoon session 2023) and 4 Supervisors under School of Management and Commerce. There is a Departmental Research Committee (DRC) and various Doctoral Committees against each scholars to monitor and promote research works. All the faculties are extending their whole hearted support to uphold the name & fame of the university to a New Horizon.
The following criteria are eligible for any candidate to seek admission to the Ph.D. programme to GCU (Assam):
Note: The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures, if any.
