An industrial visit was organized for the B.Tech 8th Semester Civil Engineering students on 12th May 2023 to the Tantia Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Plant located at Pamohi, Assam. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of an RMC plant and to help them understand the production process of ready-mix concrete.
During the visit, plant officials explained the various stages of concrete production, including material selection, batching, mixing, quality control, and transportation. Students observed how raw materials such as cement, aggregates, and water are proportioned and mixed using automated systems. They also learned how quality is maintained through regular testing and monitoring.
The staff emphasized safety procedures and the importance of maintaining environmental standards during operations. The visit was highly informative and helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practices. It provided students with a better understanding of the practical aspects of concrete production and plant management.
