The School of Agriculture & Allied Sciences under Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam in the constituent campus at Tezpur aligns with broader objectives of elevating agriculture to a smart agri-business entity, leveraging state bio-resources for global bio-economy and strengthening institutional social responsibility for socioeconomic development. These objectives could be achieved by delivering high quality education to instill professionalism and scientific expertise; conducting location specific research on agriculture-based farming systems to meet people’s needs and fostering agri-entrepreneurship for socio-economic development. Specific aims will be to meet demand for skilled manpower in agriculture sector, quality education, innovation and research, entrepreneurship and agribusiness and diversification of agriculture with a final goal towards sustainable economic development of the country.
