MSW programme offers a deeper understanding of theoretical approaches in social work, models and interventions. Students shall specialize in any core area of social work practice in the second year of the course. Field placements shall also be chosen according to their specialization. Research is a crucial activity in the MSW course and advanced research methodology workshops shall be organized. Students graduating from the Masters Programme are capacitated with requisite knowledge and skills essential for social work practice as well as continue their research through the PhD programmes.

Field Practicum

Field work is an integral and indispensable component of the social work programme. The following are the field components incorporated both in BSW and MSW programmes:

  • Observation field visits
  • Concurrent Field Work Practicum
  • Rural Camp and Study Tour
  • Block Placement

Specializations offered in MSW: Community Development/Medical and Psychiatry/Family and Child Welfare.

Eligibility

Candidates with a Bachelors’ Degree from any recognized Indian/Foreign university.
