Civil Engineering Students of GCU Attend Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit on State Infrastructure Development

VISIT TO ADVANTAGE ASSAM 2.0 

On 26th February 2025, a group of 65 students from the Department of Civil Engineering,  Girijananda Chowdhury University, attended a thematic discussion on “Assam’s Road,  Railways, and Riverine Infrastructure,” held as part of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment  & Infrastructure Summit 2025 at Veterinary College Field, Khanapara.  

The event was graced by Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, and Lok Sabha  Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, along with esteemed dignitaries from various industries and  infrastructure sectors. The discussion focused on Assam’s ongoing and upcoming  infrastructure projects, investment opportunities, and strategic development plans. The  dignitaries expressed their strong commitment to investing in Assam’s infrastructure and  fostering economic growth.  

Students had the opportunity to gain firsthand insights from senior government officials and  industry leaders. The session provided a platform to understand large-scale infrastructure  planning, execution challenges, and government policies aimed at strengthening connectivity  across the state.  

The students were led by Mrs. Anwesha Gayan (Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering  Department) and Dr. Pallab Jyoti Das ( Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department).The  event proved to be a valuable learning experience, bridging the gap between academic  knowledge and real-world infrastructure development, and inspiring students to contribute to  Assam’s growth in the future.
