Biography

Dr. Snehal Kaushik is Associate Professor of Civil Engineering Department at the Girijananda Chowdhury University Guwahati (GCU). She attended the Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science, Nagpur University, where she received a B.E degree in Civil Engineering in 1997. In 1998 she began her post graduate studies and received M.Tech (Structural Engineering) degree in 1999. She joined as a Senior Research Associate at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and worked there for 8 years. After involved in research for several year she began her doctoral research at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati and received the PhD degree in 2018.She has been a faculty member of the Department of Civil Engineering at GIMT since 2018, holding the rank of Associate Professor of Civil Engineering Department, GCU since 2022.

As a member of the faculty, specializing in Structural engineering, she has been engaged in research and centered on earthquake resistant design, nonlinear behavior, seismic retrofitting of structures. Member of the Indian Society of Earthquake Technology. Published several research papers in national and international journals and conferences on different research areas.

She has served as chairman or member of numerous major committees of the institute such as the Institute Innovation Council (IIC), National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
