Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU), Guwahati appreciates the achievement of Mr. Soumyadeep Ghosh and Ms. Bhaswati Flowrina Kashyap, students of B. Pharm 5th sem for securing first position at the Inter-Pharmacy College Debate Competition organized by the Institute of Pharmacy, Gauhati Medical College, as part of the 64th National Pharmacy Week celebrations held on 19th and 20th November 2025.
The debate, centred on the contemporary and thought-provoking topic “AI is a Threat to Human Creativity and Originality,” witnessed spirited participation from pharmacy colleges across the region. Amid strong competition, the duo from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, GCU stood out for their well-researched arguments, confident articulation, and ability to address complex ethical dimensions surrounding artificial intelligence. Their outstanding performance not only highlighted their academic excellence but also reflected the university’s emphasis on nurturing critical thinking, communication skills, and innovation among its students. The achievement has brought pride to the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the entire GCU fraternity.
