The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Girijananda Chowdhury University, Tezpur Campus, successfully organized the Student Induction Program 2025 on 4th August 2025 to welcome the newly admitted students of B. Pharm 1st Semester, D. Pharm 1st Year, and B. Pharm 3rd Semester (Lateral Entry). The program aimed to acquaint the freshers with the academic environment, facilities, and expectations of the institution.
The event opened with Ms. Rubina Chowdhury, Assistant Professor and Co-coordinator, followed by the lamp-lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana. A welcome address and an introduction to the institute’s vision and mission were delivered by Dr. Supriya Sahu, Principal-in-charge and Coordinator.
The day featured a series of orientation sessions like for the Course registration & Academia platform delivered by Mr. Damanbhalang Rynjah, Student clubs & co-curricular engagement by Ms. Debika Sharma & Dr. Hemanga Hazarika. For Examination pattern by Mr. Shekhar Chandra Bora, Career development, training & placements by Dr. Rajat Subhra Dutta, and for the library resources & academic support delivered by Ms. Mondita Saikia.
In the post-lunch session, departmental introductions were given by Ms. Sanghita Das (student committees), Ms. Arzoo Newar (Pharmaceutics), Mr. Farak Ali (Pharmaceutical Chemistry), Ms. Shahnaz Alom (Pharmacology), and Ms. Namrata Koushik (Pharmacognosy). Dr. Asish Bhaumik further elaborated on regulatory bodies such as PCI, NBA, and NIRF.
On 11th August 2025, a Special Interactive Session as a part of the SIP was organized for the newly admitted students to formally interact with the dignitaries of GCU main campus. The session featured insightful talks by Shri Jasoda Ranjan Das, President, Srimanta Sankar Academy, Assam, and Prof. Jayanta Deka, Hon’ble Chancellor of GCU Assam accompanied by Prof. Sunayan Bardoloi, Dean of the School of Natural Sciences, GCU Assam.
The program concluded with cultural performances and interactive activities by senior students, freshers, and parents, followed by a vote of thanks from Dr. Supriya Sahu and Ms. Shahnaz Alom, acknowledging the collective efforts of faculty, staff, and volunteers.
