On 5th February 2026, the Department of Sociology and Social Work organized a career guidance session on Careers in the Social Sector which was conducted by Mr. Adil Shah, Associate Director, Indian School of Development Management (ISDM). He spoke about building impactful, financially viable, and future-oriented careers, highlighting that students from diverse academic backgrounds can contribute meaningfully to social impact. He highlighted the essential competencies required for professionals in the social sector, such as the ability to think critically and solve problems, balance empathy with strategic decision-making, engage effectively with diverse communities, communicate impact through management and storytelling, and understand social systems and structures. The session was informative and engaging. Sixty students from disciplines such as Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Journalism and Mass Communication, Business Administration, Political Science, and Education participated and benefited from the programme.
