Hack-to-Hire IDEATHON – Google Developer Groups on Campus – Gauhati University

We are delighted to announce a remarkable achievement by the Coding Team of Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU) at the Hack-to-Hire Ideathon 2025, organized by Google Developer Groups (GDG) at the Gauhati University campus.

The GCU team, Astranova, represented by Krishnayan Kashyap Pathak (BCA 1st Sem) and Mazharul Islam Barbhuiya (BCA 1st Sem), demonstrated exceptional innovation and technical proficiency, earning an impressive 2nd Position at the event.

Competing against a diverse and highly skilled group of over 100 participants from across Assam, the team presented KhetFlow—a B2B operations engine designed to convert agricultural surplus into a valuable and profitable asset. Rather than functioning as a simple marketplace, KhetFlow serves as a comprehensive operational partner for farmers and local businesses such as hotels and kitchens.

Their solution effectively addressed three major challenges in the food waste supply chain:

  • Trust: Implemented through QR-verified quality checks
  • Logistics: Managed via a gig-based “Agri-Rider” delivery network
  • Cash Flow: Enhanced through instant payouts to farmers

By efficiently connecting hyper-local supply with real-time demand, KhetFlow establishes a “Value Lock-In” model that increases farmer income, lowers procurement costs for businesses, and prevents large quantities of edible food from ending up in landfills.

Securing the 2nd Position at this prestigious event marks a significant milestone for the GCU Coding Team. With this accomplishment, the team has now been shortlisted for the National round. We look forward to carrying this momentum forward and proudly representing our University at the National level.
