Girijananda Chowdhury University successfully organized the All Assam Essay Writing Competition as part of the Birth Centenary Celebration of Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, the legendary music maestro and cultural icon of Assam.
The competition invited young participants (up to 25 years) to submit essays on the theme:
“Humanism in Bhupen Hazarika’s Songs” “ভূপেন হাজৰিকাৰ গীতত মানৱতাবাদ” in either Assamese or English.
With overwhelming participation and enthusiastic responses from across the state, the winners of the competition have been declared:

Second Prize: Kritartha Jyoti Das, Girijananda Chowdhury University
Third Prize: Priya Khanikar, Duliajan College
Prize Distribution Ceremony
The Prize Distribution Ceremony will be held on 13th September, 2025 at the GCU Auditorium. All prize winners are requested to remain present to receive their awards.
