Bachelor of Economics with Specialization in Data Science

This is a special programme at the undergraduate level where students can opt for more software related courses along with Economics as the major discipline. The students can learn to extract data and to analyze them. Students will be exposed to various dimensions of Economics along with machine learning, programming, SPSS lab, data warehousing & data mining and many more. They can be placed as data analyst, researcher in various marketing research firms and research institutions. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that after three years students can pursue higher studies in Economics or/and Data science

Career opportunities

  1. Graduates from Economics can seek a career in variety of areas including business, finance and banking. They can also obtain jobs abroad as Auditor, Stock Broker, Media Analyst, Actuarial, Banker etc.
  2. Employment opportunities are available in both public sector and private sector industries such as in non-profit agencies, healthcare organization and law firms.
  3. The students will get wide range of job opportunities to conduct data analysis, recognize process improvement opportunities, make recommendations, managing external stakeholder’s expectations, government services and international civil services.
