A three-day workshop on “Android App Development” was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Girijananda Chowdhury University, from 14th to 16th November 2022. The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge and technical skills of students in the field of mobile application development. Mr. Birshu Sharma, Director of Kareng Technologies, served as the resource person.
During the workshop, students were introduced to the fundamentals of Android application development, including the use of Android Studio, application design principles, and hands-on practice in building simple mobile applications. The sessions provided students with practical exposure to app development and helped them understand current trends in the mobile technology industry. A total of 49 students from the CSE Department attended the workshop.
The closing ceremony of the workshop began with a speech by Dr. Th. Shanta Kumar, Head of the Department of CSE, who emphasized the importance of mobile application development skills in the modern IT industry. This was followed by an address from Mr. Birshu Sharma, who highlighted the role of industry–academia collaboration in bridging the skill gap among students. Certificates of participation were distributed to all students who successfully completed the workshop.
