The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT), Guwahati, organized an alumni talk in online mode via Google Meet on 5th November 2022 from 11:00 a.m. onwards. The event was organized in collaboration with the Alumni Association, GIMT-Guwahati.
An alumnus of the CSE Department, Mr. Saurav Chakraborty (Batch of 2011–2015), was invited as the speaker. He completed his MBA in Information Technology from Sikkim Manipal University in 2020. In 2016, he joined HP as a Technical Solution Engineer, where he worked for more than a year. Later, he joined VERINT, where he has been serving as a Senior Technical Engineer for over five years.
The event was hosted by Ms. Sayantani Roy, a student of the 8th semester, CSE Department.
During the session, Mr. Chakraborty spoke about various aspects of job placements, including preparation strategies for on-campus and off-campus interviews, and discussed the recent trends in the IT industry. He also shared his professional experiences and addressed students’ queries related to placements.
Approximately 50 students from the 8th semester, CSE Department, attended the session. The session was highly informative and interactive, providing valuable insights to the participants. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the host. Feedback from the participants was also collected during the session.
