Ms. Sanjana Bora has joined the Department of Extension Education, as an Assistant Professor on Nov 3rd, 2025. Sanjana Bora holds a B.Sc. Hons Agriculture and an M.Sc. Agriculture in Extension Education from Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. She has successfully qualified the ASRB NET twice, in 2021 and 2023
Her professional experience includes working with SIMFED (Sikkim State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd.) as a Block Coordinator under ASRLM, where she was engaged in the execution of organic agriculture projects in Nagaon district. She has also served as a Teaching Associate in Extension Education at the FGI, College of Agricultural Sciences, Manipur, and as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research – Directorate of Rapeseed-Mustard Research (ICAR-DRMR), Bharatpur (APART), and subsequently under the National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) at the District Agriculture Office, Nagaon.
Her research interests lie in agricultural extension, organic farming, farmer information behaviour, and women empowerment in agriculture. She has authored and co-authored several research papers in reputed journals, including studies on farmers’ information needs and information-seeking behaviour related to organic vegetable production in Assam.
She has presented papers at national conferences, such as the STAR National Conference at RARI, Durgapura, Jaipur (2025), and received the Bronze Medal for her presentation titled “Enhancing Rapeseed Mustard Productivity in Assam: An Analysis of Crop Demonstrations and Yield Gap Reduction in Nagaon District of Assam.”
Ms. Bora continues to pursue academic excellence and research focused on improving agricultural communication, technology transfer, and sustainable farming practices.
