Industrial Visits of Business Administration

Industrial Visit to Britannia, Rampur

The Department of Business Administration at GCU organized an industrial visit to Britannia Industries Limited in Rampur on September 25, 2024. Two Assistant Professors, Faruk Ahmed and Abhishek Kakati, led a group of 24 first-semester MBA students on the visit. Senior HR Officer, Mr. Neelamjit Goswami, along with his production team, provided the students with in-depth insights into the industry’s practical operations and working environment.

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO THAILAND IN FEBRUARY, 2024:

An adventurous and enthusiastic trip to Thailand was organised for the students of MBA 1st semester (2023-25) batch during the month of February accompanied by two energetic faculty members Dr. Junumoni Das and Dr. Dhruva Jyoti Sharma Sir. It was on 22nd February when the flight took off from LGBIA Borjhar along with the 27 students and two faculty members and reached Don Mueng International Airport at 03.55 hrs. I.C.T.

The trip starts with the visit to the famous ‘Wat Arun temple’ – the temple derives its name from the Hindu god Aruna, often personified as the radiations of the rising sun. It was followed by a scheduled Program at Asian Institute Technology (AIT), Thailand on the very next day. All of them have reached the AIT at around 09.45 hrs. I.C.T. The team of two faculty members and the 27 students were welcomed by Prof. Pradeep Narayan Dash, who is one of the designated personalities in AIT, then they have proceeded to their conference room, where Prof. Dash gave us a brief introduction about the AIT. Prof. Dash narrated that the Thai culture had familiar resemblance with Tai – Ahom culture, so it also follows some Hindu ancient mythologies of Ramayana and Mahabharata. The current king of Thailand is Vajiralongkorn, the tenth monarch of the chakri dynasty, at aged 64 is also known as Rama X. The discussion was very fruitful and high yielding to the students, during which some Thai Snacks along with tea and coffee were served to all. He further added some interesting points about School of Engineering and Technology, School of Environmental and Climate Change, School of Commerce and Management, where various courses are offered by them. Students from Australia, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, etc. where every gender is treated equally irrespective of being male, female and equal importance were given to the third – gender as like others. After that our respected madam Dr. Junumoni Das gave a brief on behalf of the Girijananda Chowdhury University and felicitated Prof. Pradeep Narayan and Prof. Tennzing with a token of appreciation. After long haul of the conference, they had a photo session with both the AIT professors and our group. They had an extension of roaming the entire campus with nice and beautiful ambience.

On the next day, they went to Pattaya city through bus which was nearly about two and half hrs. journey from Bangkok. The program was scheduled to visit coral island and explore its scenic beauty and indulge in its exotic activities like jet skiing, sea walking, parasailing, banana boat ride etc. They had the experience of watching the Alcazar Cabaret Show program, where transgender artists show their skills and talents in a large pool of audience. The main motive of this tour was to visit the famous Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and Thammasat University, providing us a fruitful and rich experience for our future growth and prospects. The trip ends with a successful landing at LGBIA, Borjhar after a week of fun experience and exposure to a new world of dreams and learning.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT ON 28TH FEB, 2024:

Department of Business Administration, GCU had organised an Industrial Visit to Akshaya Patra Foundation, which is located in Amingoan, Guwahati – 781031, Assam on 28th Feb, 2024, Wednesday for MBA 4th Semester of 2022-24 batch. The visit was co-ordinated by the two Faculty Members of the respective department Dr. Abhinav Sarma and Mr. Faruk Ahmed along with 37 students of MBA final year. The session was incorporated under the guidance of operation head of the organisation Mr. Rajiv Yadav and the production head Mr. Sanjiv Kalita who had made the necessary arrangements for the students to visit the plant and have the overview of the production process in detailed manner. They have described in detail about the processing, packaging and distribution of the items produced by Akshaya Patra Kitchen which are delivered to different government schools for mid-day meal.

The session was followed by an inspirational and motivational session on “Self-Realisation and Purpose of Life” delivered by Prabhu Chaitanya Dasa. He has been mentoring students & youth for last 15 years. His expertise in Indian Vedic wisdom can be used in helping youth to focus their minds and achieve the ultimate goal of life. He has addressed the students by throwing light upon important prospects like Purpose of Life, Theory of Everything etc. He also narrated a story which was related to Swami Srila Prabhupada. In his session he also included the real fundamentals of life, a brief about the Akshaya Patra Organisation and how we can get the benefits of the organisation. The session was conducted for around one and half hour. After the session was completed, the students made a visit to the Hare Krishna Mandir which is within the premises of Akshaya Patra. Later on, a lunch break was arranged for the students.

The Department of Business Administration at GCU organized an Industrial Visit to SRD Group’s Trinity Fructa Private Limited (TFPL) located in Mangaldoi, Assam on 2nd May, 2024, Thursday. The visit was coordinated by the two Faculty Members of the respective department Dr. Dhruva Jyoti Sharma and Mr. Faruk Ahmed along with 27 students of BBA 6th Semester of 2021-24. The session was incorporated under the guidance of General Manager of the organization Dr. KN Singh. The visit aimed to provide students with insights into the manufacturing process of ORSL, a non-alcoholic fruit-based electrolyte energy drink produced by TFPL, which is a subsidiary of the SRD Group.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT ON 26 MAY,2023

An industrial visit to CG Foods India Pvt. Ltd., Chhaygaon, Kamrup (Rural), Assam, was organized by the Department of Business Administration on May 26, 2023 for the students of MBA 2nd Semester. The objective of this industrial visit was to provide a practical industry exposure to our students.

The team of 39 students – divided into two groups – along with Mr. Faruk Ahmed and Mr. Abhinav Sarma, Assistant Professors of the Department of Business Administration visited the Plant of CG Foods Ltd. Ms. Hima Thakuria, HR Executive explained in details about the manufacturing process of ‘Wai Wai’ and ‘Mimi’ products and also about the HR policies, working hours, health & hygiene of employees, training & development and incentive schemes of the organisation to the students.  

INDUSTRIAL VISIT IN 2023

The Department of Business Administration of Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU), Azara, organised a one day industrial visit to the SRD Group of Institutions located at Mangaldai, on April 29, 2023, for the students of BBA 6th semester in order to promote industry engagement and learning among them. The students were taken to the factories of SRD Nutrients, Sunandaram Food Private Ltd., and Trinity Fructa Private Ltd., which are under the aegis of the SRD group, so that they can get a practical understanding of the workings of the industrial sector. Mr. Nabapallab Deka, Senior HR Executive at SRD Group and an alumnus of the GCU’s Dept. of Business Administration (MBA Batch: 2015-17), took the students on a round of the factories. He further explained the details of the food items that are manufactured in these industries, and the processes of production, management and marketing, which are being followed by the company. The students of the university were accompanied by Mr. Dhruva Jyoti Sharma and Md. Faruk Ahmed, Assistant Professors of the Department of Business Administration, GCU. Mr. Sharma was also in charge of coordination of the industrial visit.

EXCURSION CUM INDUSTRIAL VISIT IN 2022 (2021-23 BATCH)

An Excursion Cum Industrial Visit Trip was undertaken for the students of MBA 3rd Semester of 2021-23 batch during November 2022 to Manali, Himachal Pradesh and New Delhi. It was a delightful and eventful journey that started off with a sightseeing of the breath-taking Rohtang pass, the gorgeous Solang Valley, and the Atal Tunnel, which is the longest tunnel in the world constructed above 10,000 feet. The students were taken to see the Hidimba Devi Temple and the Veer Ghatotkach Temple. On the other hand, during their trip to Delhi, they got an opportunity to visit the sites of historical and national importance like the India Gate, the Red Fort, and the Jama Masjid, among others. Furthermore, an exploration of the streets of Chandni Chowk allowed the students to explore the local culture of the national capital of India, New Delhi.

Moreover, on the return journey back home, they got a chance to witness the process of woollen shawl manufacturing in “Himachal Handloom Gramudyog”. The process was explained in great detail by Mr. Jubin Raunaut, the owner and manager of the unit in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh.

 

EXCURSION CUM INDUSTRIAL VISIT IN 2019 (2018-20 BATCH)

An Excursion Cum Industrial Visit to Gangtok, Sikkim was organized during October 2019 with the students of the MBA Final Year Batch. The team of two faculty members along with 27 students had visited several places like Nathu La Pass, Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple, Tsango Lake, Lachung, Yumthang Valley Zero Point and Gonjang Monastery. The students also got the exposure to visit the Alkem Laboratories Ltd, a pharmaceutical company in Kumrek, Sikkim, and they were able to learn about the processing of several medicines and drugs.
