On 24th March 2025, the Department of Business Administration at Girijananda Chowdhury University organized an insightful industrial visit for the BBA 4th semester students to Sunrise Biscuit Co Pvt. Ltd. Accompanied by Dr. Abhinav Sarma and Md. Faruk Ahmed, Assistant Professors, the visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to observe and understand the intricate workings of a successful manufacturing unit, bridging their classroom knowledge with practical industry experience.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Hrishikesh Sarma, Senior HR Officer of the HR & Administrative Department, who facilitated an engaging session. Mr. Sarma highlighted the methodologies of “5M” (Men, Machines, Materials, Methods, and Measurement) and “4S” (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize) that are effectively implemented within the plant. He elaborated on how these methodologies are integral to improving production efficiency and ensuring product quality. The students learned that the synergistic application of machines, methodologies, and mechanics not only enhances productivity but also facilitates smoother operational workflows.
In an interactive session, Mr. Sarma addressed various queries from the students about the production processes and quality control systems in place at Sunrise Biscuit. He stressed the importance of strong industrial relations policies adopted at their facilities, which play a crucial role in maintaining a motivated workforce and fostering a collaborative working environment. Moreover, Ms. Bijuli Maibangsa, an HR Officer, provided additional insights and guidance during the plant tour, enriching the overall learning experience for the students. The visit also allowed students to observe firsthand the rigorous quality control measures and management practices that contribute to the company’s reputation for producing high-quality products. This practical exposure helped students understand the nuances of the business environment, the significance of effective communication within teams, and the essential tools used in production management.
