Dr. Rajat Subhra Dutta has joined the School of Pharmaceutical Science, Tezpur Campus as an Assistant Professor on 1st March 2023. At present, he is teaching (and learning) the curriculum courses namely, Biostatistics and Research Methodology, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, and Novel Drug Delivery System for B.Pharm students respectively.
Currently, Dr. Dutta is serving as Training and Career Guidance Cell coordinator, as Anti- Ragging Committee member, as Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee member, as MoU Co-ordinator, as Boys’ Hostel Superintendent, as Hostel Disciplinary Committee member, and as Sports Club Co-ordinator respectively at Girijananda Chowdhury University, Tezpur Campus.
He has around 13 years of professional experience in the field of industry, teaching and research. Before joining at Girijananda Chowdhury University, he has served in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dibrugarh University as a Research Fellow under LSRB-DRDO project during the year 2019 to 2022. He carried out research on the development of novel mosquito repellent formulation.
He has also served in the Department of Pharmacy, Regional Institute of Paramedical and Nursing Sciences (RIPANS), Aizawl (An Autonomous Institute under the MoHFW, Govt. of India) as an Assistant Professor during the year 2014 to 2019. He was involved in teaching (and learning) the curriculum courses namely Physical Pharmaceutics , Industrial Pharmacy , Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics for B.Pharm, and Modern Pharmaceutics, Research Methodology, Advanced Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics , Computer Aided Drug Delivery System, Drug Regulatory Affairs and IPR for M.Pharm included in PCI (Old and New) syllabus.
He has guided six numbers of M. Pharm students and eleven numbers of B.Pharm students for successful completion of their dissertation work. He served as Paper setter, Examiner, Moderation Board member related to B.Pharm and M.Pharm examinations under Mizoram University, as Research Advisory Committee Member, as In-Charge of students job placement activities, as College SWAYAM Coordinator, as ISO 9001:2015 process owner, as Advisory Board Member of Drug Information Bulletin, and as an Office Council Member, W& PG section during his tenure at RIPANS, Aizawl.
He also has an expertise of working in Quality Pharma Products Pvt. Ltd., Dibrugarh, Assam (A Pharmaceutical Industry) as a Quality Assurance Chemist during the year 2010 to 2012. He was involved in QC/QA activities in the Manufacturing, Testing and Packaging of Liquid Orals and Ointments, involved in all the QA related activities from Dispensing to Dispatch like Self Inspection, Unit Operation, Internal Audit, Handling of Deviation, Change Control and CAPA and was involved in the Preparation and Review of Documents like BMR, BPR, SOPs and STPs for different pharmaceutical products. Dr. Rajat Subhra Dutta had pursued his B. Pharm, M. Pharm (Pharmaceutics) and Ph.D. from from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dibrugarh University. His research areas are mainly focussed on Natural products, Polymers, Biomaterials, Drug Delivery systems, Nanoformulations, and Dosage form design. He has published his various research/review works in referred/peer reviewed reputed National and International Journals and book chapters for various International books having an overall total cumulative impact factor (IF) of 46.8. He has also attended various seminars/ workshops as participant as well as resource person. He is the life member of Indian Pharmaceutical Association and is the reviewer of various reputed international journals.
Apart from the professional experience, he loves to play cricket and was player and club member for Zemabawk Pitchers Cricket Club, Aizawl (One of the reputed Clubs under the affiliation of Cricket Association of Mizoram), recognised by the Board of Cricket Council of India (BCCI). He has also received award as certificate of appreciation for participation as Manager of the RIPANS Men’s Cricket Team for winning the Championship Trophy of the 4th Intervarsity Cricket Tournament held during 22nd-26th February, 2018 organized by ICFAI University in collaboration with Cricket Association of Mizoram. He also received award as Cricket Champion in the Varsity Week, 2008 of Dibrugarh University. Apart from cricket he also has interest in acting and song writing, and was awarded 3rd position in the Drama Competition during Varsity Week, Dibrugarh University, 2010. He has also performed various social activities through street plays. He has directed the music video ‘RIPANS RELIVED’ published in the official youtube channel ‘RIPANS AIZAWL’ of Regional Institute of Paramedical and Nursing Sciences, RIPANS and also has written the lyrics of the song for the mentioned music video ‘RIPANS RELIVED’. He was one of the executive committee members of Assam Cultural Society, Mizoram Branch and was the organising committee member as Assistant General Secretary of Bihu Celebration Committee in Mizoram during his stay in Aizawl, Mizoram.
