Mr. Rajana James joined the Department of Pharmaceutical Science as an Assistant Professor on Feb 2021. At present, he is teaching (and learning) the curriculum courses of Advanced Pharmacology of M.Pharm, Pharmacology (Practice school) of B.Pharm and Biochemistry of BMLT. Prior to this, he has worked as Assistant Professor at University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) , India. His work was mostly in Teaching various subjects of B.Pharm and was also a coordinator member for PCI, AICTE core committees.
James has done his (post-graduation)M.Pharm in Pharmacology (with major project in Evaluation of Cardioprotective effect of Lycopersicon esculentum in Isoprenaline induced Cardiomyopathy) from KLE University, Karnataka. His under-graduation (B.Pharm) is from Girijananda Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, under Guwahati University ( with major project inThe antimicrobial effect of Green Tea, Black tea and Commercial tea and their comparison with standard antibiotic Tetracycline). James is Persuing his PhD from Dibrugarh University (DU, Assam)
Apart from academics, hecan sing songs and can play instruments like Drums, Tablaand Guitar and is a cultural coordinator of GCU,Assam. He is also a good sports person in sports like Cricket, Basket Ball, Volly Ball, Badminton and Football. Heis also a good anchor and has performed anchoring in various programs organised by Girijananda Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (GIPS)
James believes that a “good education can change anyone and a good TEACHER can change everything.”
