Dr. Vidhya Srinivasan presently designated as Professor and Head of the Department. She has completed her MS in Medical Laboratory Technology from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani and PhD in Biological sciences from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani.
Dr. Vidhya has 18 years of Professional experience with strong emphasis on Teaching, Research and Diagnosis. She is selected as Professional Council Member of Medical Laboratory and Life sciences professional under National commission of Allied and Healthcare professions (Notification Number: 40/1/2025-AHS-DOHFW DEPARTMENT, dated 26.03.2025) and also Curriculum Task Force Member for Drafting and reviewing curriculum for Medical Laboratory Sciences, National commission of Allied and Healthcare professions. She was selected as representative from North East for Working group Expert in MLT curriculum development Workshop, Interim Commission Allied Health Profession, Ministry of Health & family welfare, Government of India. She is also the Key person in the Curriculum development for MLT (Diploma, UG & PG) for Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences and Allied health sciences in two private universities of North East.
She was also appointed as Inspector/ Chairman /Inspection committee member for inspection of various Allied Health Colleges affiliated under SSUHS in Assam. She has organized various Health camps, Awareness programme, workshops in the College/ university.
She has published a total of 15 research papers. She has also presented posters and papers in various National and International conferences including World diabetes Congress 2025. She has received Honour of excellence, Academic excellence award, Dr.Radhakrishnan award, BS Narasingha Rao Award, National ASIA ARVO travel grant, Best poster Award. She also bagged Wipro Biomed Pvt Ltd Endowment award, Dr.S.Ramaswamy and Dr.S.Narasimhan Endowment award for Academic excellence during her Post graduation. She Currently guiding 8 PhD Scholars in MLT. Her Research area focuses on Non communicable disease viz Obesity, diabetes and cancer. She is also the presiding officer of Internal Committee and Anti- Discrimination officer of Equal opportunity Cell of the University
