Biography

Priti Sarmah is an Asst. Professor  of dept.  of English in Girijananda Chowdhury University.  She has done her Post graduation in English Language Teaching from Gauhati University.  Her undergraduation is in English Literature from Dibrugarh University. Her passion for education and teaching has led her to delve deeper into research. She has submitted her doctoral thesis, which explores the area on developing Literacy across curriculum among undergraduate learners. Her academic pursuits and teaching experience has led her to work as a Teacher trainer. Her publications are on the area of research which basically focuses on Methodologies of teaching. She is a trained teacher trainer under British council and trained English teachers of different schools in Assam. Apart from this, she has contributed as a voice-over artist for Diksha app under Assam Government.  She has keen interest in anchoring and anchored different events. She has also imparted soft skill training sessions in various institutes, to name a few, Govt. Ayurvedic college ASDM, etc.

In addition to her academic and professional achievements, she has keen interest in Music and culture. She is trained in Hindustani Classical music. Her love for music and dedication to her craft have allowed her to use music in voice modulation in teaching language among learners. Her courage and commitment to challenge societal norms have made her advocate for body positivity. In her efforts to raise awareness and combat body shaming, She has proudly walked the ramp as a Plus size model at the prestigious events of North East International and Eastern style week. Through her various roles, Priti Sarmah has exemplified the power of knowledge, empathy and self-acceptance as an academician, educator, researcher, soft skill trainer, teacher trainer ,voiceover artist and a performer.
