Miss Devilata Pegu has joined Girijananda Chowdhury University in the department of Civil Engineering as Assistant Professor in August 2023. She has completed her B.E in Civil Engineering from Assam Engineering College, Jalukbari in the year 2009 and her post-graduation in Disaster Mitigation and Management from IIT Roorkee in 2015. Her areas of interest are Earthquake Disaster Mitigation and Management, Seismic Hazard, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment and retrofitting of structures.
She has worked as Assistant Engineer(QS and Planning) on the project ‘Construction of City Center Mall, GS Road, Assam’under Brahmaputra Infrastructure Ltd. She has also worked as Assistant Billing Engineer with Rajiva Kumar and Associates, New Delhi on the Project “Construction of high rise building of DGMAP, under Ministry of Defence, Kashmir House, New Delhi”.She was a speaker in seminar on ‘Climate change and Disaster mitigation & Management’, organized by Sahayog India foundation in 2015.She has attended and published a paper in 16th European Conference in Earthquake Engineering(16ECEE), 2018 held in Thessaloniki, Greece. She has a love for trekking and cycling. She also shares deep interest in travelling and exploring new places.
