Ms. Afsana Begum joined the Department of Pharmaceutics at Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU), Assam, as a Lecturer in May 2026. She has accumulated over six years of teaching experience in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
She obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) degree from Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2014 and completed her Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm.) with a specialization in Pharmaceutics from Dibrugarh University in 2016. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Girijananda Chowdhury University. As an educator, Ms. Begum teaches core pharmaceutical subjects, including Pharmaceutics, Physical Pharmacy, and Industrial Pharmacy. She is committed to fostering intellectual curiosity and developing a strong conceptual foundation among students in the field of pharmaceutics.
Her research interests encompass Novel Drug Delivery Systems, Nanotechnology-Based Delivery of Plant-Derived Bioactive Compounds, and Dermatological Therapeutics. Her research focuses on the design, development, and evaluation of advanced pharmaceutical formulations aimed at improving the therapeutic efficacy of natural bioactive compounds, enhancing patient compliance, and enabling targeted drug delivery.
Ms. Begum strongly believes that education is a dynamic, two-way process involving the exchange of knowledge between teachers and students. This philosophy guides her professional journey as an educator and inspires her continuous pursuit of learning, research, and academic excellence.
