Mr. Niloy Jyoti Saikia is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU), Assam. He is academically trained in pharmaceutical sciences with specialization in Pharmacognosy and is actively involved in teaching, research and academic activities in the field of natural product research.
Mr. Saikia has completed his Master of Pharmacy (Pharmacognosy) from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Girijananda Chowdhury University, Guwahati. He completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy from The Assam Royal Global University, Guwahati with excellent academic performance. His primary research interests include natural product drug discovery, phytochemical analysis and in vivo pharmacological studies with a focus on scientific validation of medicinal plants and bioactive phytoconstituents for therapeutic
applications in Pharmacognosy.
Mr. Saikia has successfully participated in several academic training programmes and workshops including professional training at NIPER Guwahati, vaccine development training under APSDC, solar technology training associated with IIT Bombay initiative and advanced pharmaceutical research workshops conducted at Girijananda Chowdhury University. He has also gained industrial exposure through internship at Sun Pharma Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., where he received training in formulation development, quality
control, GMP and regulatory compliance.
He is currently engaged in research related to pharmacognostical evaluation, phytochemical investigation and biological activity assessment of medicinal plant sources. Mr. Saikia has participated in national and international conferences and has received recognition for research presentations in pharmaceutical sciences.
