Biography

Dr. Jupitara Boro joined the Department of English as an Assistant Professor on May 2023. Prior to GCU, she has worked as an Assistant Professor at Sonapur College. She has completed her post-graduation in Linguistics and Language Technology from Tezpur University. She has completed her post-graduation in English Literature from IGNOU, New Delhi. Her under-graduation is in English Literature from Cotton College (Now Cotton College State University). She has submitted her Ph.D thesis in Linguistics and Phonetics from The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad (Shillong Campus). Her doctoral research work mainly focuses on structural, psychological and social aspects of code switching in the Bodo language. As a Senior Research Fellow, her research interest includes Phonetics, Phonology, Sociolinguistics and North East Indian Literature. Apart from teaching and research, she is a nature enthusiast who enjoys reading, listening to music, and participating in sports. She aspires to build a learning community that fosters positive growth in a dynamic learning environment.
