Ilina Sinha joined the Department of Computer Science and Engineering as an Assistant Professor on May 2023. At present, she is teaching (and learning) the curriculum courses of Software Engineering, Graph Theory, Signal Processing and Computer Graphics. Prior to this, sheworked in the industry as an ArtificialIntelligence Engineer at the AIML team of IQVIA, India. Her work was mostly inMachine Learning and Natural Language Processing of Clinical Data.
Ilinahas done her (post-graduation)M.Tech in Information Technology (with major project inDeep Learning) from Tezpur University. Her under-graduation (B.Tech) is in Electronicsand Communication Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Silchar ( with major project in Image Authentication). Her brief research internshipsare on Speech Processingfrom IIT Guwahati and on Data Analytics from IIMCalcutta.
Apart from academics, she writes poetry in English and Bishnupriya Manipuri (a language recognised by UNESCO as endangered). In 2022, she was invited by Sahitya
Akademi, India’s National Academy of Letters to represent the endangered language on
World Mother Tongue Day.
A teacher by the day and a poet in the stillness of midnight, she identifies herself as a perpetual student in the class of poetry and a devoted admirer of all forms of arts and creativity.
