Dr. Sampurna Bhuyan is an Indian academic and a leading figure at Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU), where she serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration and the current Head (incharge)of the Department of Economics. She has significant experience in teaching, research, and administration within higher education in Assam. Dr. Bhuyan completed her M.Phil. from North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Microfinance and earned her Ph.D. in Health Care Economics from Gauhati University. She has acquired post graduate diploma in Business Management and qualified the State Level Eligibility Test in Economics. She was awarded an Institutional Junior Research Fellowship from the ICSSR recognised organisation OKDISCD and also has acted as one of the Reviewers in SN Business and Economics,Springer Nature group of Journals. Her expertise spans a wide range of economic and business fields, including: Mathematical Economics, Econometric Methods, Health Care Economics, Environmental Economics and Green Finance, Managerial Economics and Research Methods for Qualitative and Quantitative approaches. She joined GCU in 2009 and has held key administrative positions, contributing significantly to the university’s academic matters.
Dr. Bhuyan is frequently invited as a resource person to deliver talks and workshops on data handling and scientific research methodology at various academic institutions at the national and global level.She has published numerous research papers and articles in national and international journals and is actively supervising PhD scholars from the discipline of management and economics.She is a passionate advocate for sustainable development, climate action, and the improvement of the higher education system in India.
