Professor Samir Bhattacharya is an internationally acclaimed biologist. He is an Indian National Science Academy (INSA), Senior Scientist in the Department of Zoology, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan. He was also a former Director of the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB) in Kolkata. Professor Bhattacharya has several contributions in the understanding of molecular signaling mechanisms of in diabetes and asthma.
