Dr. Rakibur Rahman is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science – Tezpur Campus (GCU Tezpur), Dekargaon, Tezpur, Assam. He possesses a strong academic foundation and extensive experience in teaching, clinical pharmacy practice, and research. He is an active member of the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), reflecting his professional engagement with the academic pharmaceutical community.
He obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree in 2015 from the Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (GIPS), Guwahati, under Gauhati University. He later earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (Post Baccalaureate) [Pharm.D. (PB)] degree in 2020 from Sri Adichunchanagiri College of Pharmacy (SACP), B.G. Nagara, Karnataka, affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from The Assam Royal Global University, Guwahati.
With over five years of professional experience spanning academics, clinical pharmacy, and research, Dr. Rahman has made noteworthy contributions to the field of pharmaceutical sciences. He has published more than six peer-reviewed research articles, including five Scopus-indexed publications, authored two book chapters and one book, and holds one national patent. Additionally, he has successfully guided more than thirteen undergraduate students in completing their research projects.
Dr. Rahman’s research work is primarily hospital-based and clinically oriented, with a strong focus on improving patient care outcomes. His key research interests include clinical trials, medication review, identification and management of drug-related problems, prescribing pattern studies, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacogenomics, antibiotic stewardship programs, and drug utilization evaluation (DUE). His research emphasizes rational drug use, patient safety, and evidence-based clinical decision-making.
Dr. Rakibur Rahman continues to remain actively engaged in academia and clinical pharmacy practice through ongoing research initiatives, scholarly publications, and the mentorship of aspiring pharmacy professionals, contributing meaningfully to the advancement of pharmaceutical education and healthcare.
