Dr. Debarshi Mallick is the Head and Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, at Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam. He joined the department as an Assistant Professor in 2009. He was awarded Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati in January 2019. Dr. Mallick has been involved in two research projects totaling Rs.20 lakhs that were financed by the MHRD and AICTE. His main research interest is in the field of Renewable Energy, with a special focus on Gasification, Combustion, and Kinetic study of biomass energy. Dr. Mallick is a reviewer of several prestigious international journals like Energy Sources Part-A, Biofuel, Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery, Bioenergy Research, Journal of CO 2 Utilization, etc. Dr. Mallick has published 5 book chapters and more than 15 international publications in prestigious peer- reviewed journals. He is now supervising two Ph.D. scholars in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University. Dr. Mallick is the coordinator of the AICTE IDEA LAB of the University. Apart from participation in various workshops/seminars conducted by IITs/NITs/Universities, Dr. Mallick has completed 10 NPTEL-SWAYAM certificate courses offered by various IITs.
