Dr. Bhrigu Kumar Das is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam. He has completed his PhD from KLE University, Belgaum, Karnataka, India and his M. Pharm (Pharmacology) from KLE College of Pharmacy, Hubballi, Karnataka. He joined Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, Azara, Guwahati, on 4th January 2021. At present, he is teaching the curriculum courses (which are mentioned in the PCI syllabus) of Pharmacology (for B. Pharm), Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, Principles of Drug Discovery, and Pharmacological Practical (for M. Pharm). He qualified for the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) conducted by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) 2013.He consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to his work and is a positive outlook person who has spent more than seven years in research and teaching in education.
Dr. Das’s research investigates the pharmacological targets/molecules, molecular mechanisms, and therapeutic potentials of natural compounds in the context of cancer, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)and diabetes-associated complications. His expertise encompasses understanding the impact of oxidative stress, altered metabolic pathways, and cell signaling in the development and progression of HCC. He has published a number of scientific papers (research and review) and book chapters in esteemed journals. He has one sponsored project from the Department of Science and Technology- Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure(DST-FIST Level 0)-2022 as a Co-Investigator (Project Implementation Group).He is also a reviewer of National and International Journals.
He holds a distinguished membership with the Human Ethics Committees Association (HECA), a prominent ethical body based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He has also actively engaged in numerous conferences, workshops, and training programs, showcasing his dedication to professional development and knowledge enhancement.
