Dr. Bhagyashree Mahanta is an Assistant professor in the Department of Zoology at Girijananda Choudhury University, Azara, Guwahati, Assam. She was an alumnus of Gauhati University. She did her graduation form Morigaon College, and secured first class first position with distinction. She did her Master degree from Department of Zoology Gauhati University with specialization in Animal physiology and Biochemistry. After completion of Masters degree by securing first class third position, she perused her research in the same University, under the guidance of Prof. J.C. Kalita. She obtained her PhD in the field of Medicinal plants and female reproductive disease. Prior to joining this University, she was working as an Assistant Professor at University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya.
Dr. Mahanta has more than 7 years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and post graduate level by serving as Assistant Professor (Contractual) in some prestigious colleges like Pandu college and Morigaon College. She has more than 12 years of research experience and guided over 20 MSc. dissertation and 3 PhD thesis in her previous institutions. She has published 15 national and international research paper in highly reputed journals indexed in UGC Care list, Web of Science, Scopus and Embase and 2 book chapters. She attended more than 6 National and International Seminars and organized one international webinar as a coordinator during her service in Morigaon college. She is a regular author in a question bank ‘Exam Booster’ by Quantum Publication for HS aspirants published annually.
Dr. Mahanta was awarded “Dr. Buta Ram Memorial award” and “Special education minister award” in 2007 for becoming best graduate in Zoology, under Gauhati University.
