Dr. Asish Bhaumik joined as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SOPS), GCU, Tezpur on March 15, 2023. At present, he is teaching (and learning) the curriculum courses (which are mentioned in the PCI syllabus) of Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry (Therapeutic Chemistry), Biochemistry, and Pharmaceutical Analysis (Analytics or Analytical Chemistry). Prior to this, he worked in various colleges and institutions as the Head of Institution at Gautam Institute of Pharmacy, Saiyad-Bahri, Hilsa-Chandi Road, Nalanda from October 27, 2021, to 2 March 2, 2023, as a Principal in Agra Public Pharmacy College of Diploma (APPCD), Artoni, and Agra from November 6, 2020, to July 4, 2021, as an Associate Professor in Narayan Institute of Pharmacy, Gopal Narayan Singh University (GNSU), Jamuhar, Sasaram, Rohtas- 821305, Bihar, since March3, 2020, to November 5, 2020, as an Associate Professor in Anurag Pharmacy College, Ananthagiri, Kodad, Suryapet (Dist), 508206, Telangana, since July 9, 2018, to February 28, 2020, as an Assistant Professor in Teja College of Pharmacy, Kodad, Suryapet (Dist), 508206, Telangana (previously Andhra Pradesh), since July 1, 2012, to July 1, 2017, and from July 3, 2017, to July 5, 2018 worked as an Associate Professor in the same College. as a Contractual Lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) in the Government Women’s Polytechnique, Hapania, Tripura (West) from January 2, 2006, to May 31, 2010, and as a Lecturer in Vikas Pharmacy College (Diploma in Pharmacy), Kodad, Nalgonda district, Andhra Pradesh from August 1, 2004, to December 31, 2005.
Dr. Bhaumik did his Ph.D. (Doctoral of Philosophy) in Pharmaceutical Science (with major research focused on Medicinal chemistry, Computational studies, Clinical Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Histopathology, and Cancer Biology) from Assam Downtown University. He has done his M. Pharm (Post-Graduation) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (with a major project entitled: “The Study of Synthesis, Characterization, Molecular Docking, and Biological Evaluation of some Novel 4-Thiazolidinone derivatives”. The major research work was done on the Organic synthesis of thiazolidinone derivatives, Molecular Docking, and pharmacological and Microbiological screening) from C. L. Baid Metha College of Pharmacy, Chennai under the Dr. MGR. Medical University. Dr. Bhaumik also has a graduate Diploma in Applied and industrial Biotechnology and in Clinical Research. Dr. Bhaumik has done his B. Pharm (Under graduation) from the Regional Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, Agartala (with a major project entitled: “The study of Phytochemical, Antibacterial & Antifungal activity of leaves of Glycosmispentaphylla)”.

Apart from academics, Dr. Bhaumik has 77 research publications in various reputed national and international journals. Dr. Bhaumik participated and presented papers at the poster as well as oral in 68 National and International conferences/seminars.
