Assistant Professor


Mr. Aunshuman Chatterjee has joined GIMT on 19/01/2009 in the position of Lecturer in the department of Mechanical Engineering. On the following year in July 2010, he was upgraded to the position of Assistant Professor in the department and is currently serving in the same position till date. He has pursued his B.E and M.E from Assam Engineering College under Gauhati University in 1998 and 2013 respectively. He has been selected for obtaining Ph.D degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT-Guwahati under the Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) of AICTE from the July session of 2023.

He has to his credit six(06) publications in international Journals and one(01) in national  Conference. He also participated in a poster presentation in a national web conference held by Assam Science and Technology University(ASTU) in 2020. He has a CRS project award to him by TEQIP III(ASTU) in 2019 under his belt. He has successfully completed six(06) NPTEL Courses and topped in three(03) of them bagging the prestigious “NPTEL Discipline Star” certificate.  Currently he is the NAAC co-ordinator of the department and the chairperson of the Holistic Committee. He is also the departmental member in GIMT-Newsletter Editorial team. He has served the department as NBA co-ordinator from 2016-2019. He was also the Workshop Superintendent from 2018 to 2023. He is a Life member of Indian Society for Technical Education(ISTE) since 2016.
