One day Seminar on “Trends in Higher Education in the Context of NEP 2020 in Assam” organized jointly by Kharupetia College and Girijananda Chowdhury University on 23.05.2023.
We are excited to share that a seminar on “Trends in Higher Education in the Context of NEP 2020 in Assam,” jointly organized by Kharupetia College, Darrang, and Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam on 23rd May, 2023, witnessed the participation of various academicians and principals from different educational institutions of the Darrang District.
Distinguished speakers, Prof. Alak Kumar Buragohain (Chancellor, GCU) and Prof. Kandarpa Das (Vice Chancellor, GCU), shared their expertise and insights during the seminar. Keynote addresses from the both speakers shed light on the transformative potential of NEP 2020 in reshaping higher education in Assam.
They have discussed key aspects such as multidisciplinary education, flexible curricula, and research-oriented learning. Further, the need for curriculum reforms, faculty development, and the promotion of indigenous knowledge systems were also discussed.
In addition to the informative sessions, a significant milestone was achieved with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kharupetia College and Girijananda Chowdhury University. This collaboration opens doors for future joint initiatives and collaborative work, fostering a stronger educational ecosystem in Assam.
