Participating Organization: GIMT-Guwahati
No. of participants: 10
Course Demonstrators: Mr Bhabaajit Baruah, Mr Rakesh Nath
About the Event:
The Skilling Programme was foocused on providing hands-on training on CADD Modelling, 3D Printing, and 3D Scanning to the students of Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management & Technology, Guwahati. The proggramme aimed to equip the participants with prractical skills and expose them to the potential appplications of these technologies. The programmme was facilitated by Mr. Rakesh Nath, a Tech Guru, who introduced the participants to an online Design CAD Software. The participants learned to use this software for modeling their desi gns, which could later be fabricated using 3D Prinnting technology. Mr. Bhabajit Baruah, a Tech Guru, extensively discussed various aspects of 3D Printing during the session, including its types, applications, the software used for processing CAAD designs, the printing process, and post-processing techniques. To provide a practical understanding, the participants were given a demonstration of the two 3D Printers available in the lab. T hey had the opportunity to fabricate their dessigns using these printers, allowing them to experience the entire 3D printing process firsthand. In addition to 3D Printing, Mr. Baruah also provi ded a detailed demonstration of 3D Scanning and explained its applications in Reverse Engineerring, Inspection, and Dimensional Analysis. Thee participants had the chance to handle the 3D Sca nner and practice scanning various products, as well as scanning the faces of their colleagues. As part of the programme, the participants were assigned small projects, which they successfullyy completed within the given timeframe. This practical exercise allowed them to apply their newly acquired skills and reinforce their undersstanding of CAD Modelling, 3D Printing, and 3DD Scanning. The six-day Skilling Programme concluded with a closing ceremony where certificaates were distributed to the attendees. The particcipants expressed their satisfaction with the proggramme and showed eagerness to attend advaanced courses at AICTE-IDEA Lab, indicating thhe success of the programme in meeting its objectives. Overall, the Skilling Programme aimedd to provide the participants with practical skills in CAD Modelling, 3D Printing, and 3D Scanning. It offered valuable hands-on experieence and exposed the participants to the potential applications of these technologies in various fieldds.
