Internet and Wi-fi facility
University is having a 200 Mbps and 10 Mbps lease line Internet connection, locally networked and connected through wi-fi available for students for their project work and preparing seminar presentations. It also access to e-books, study materials, previous question papers daily circulars, etc. through the Internet. Internet facilities in the well-equipped internet lab, providing high speed of connectivity the student can surf the net together unlimited information.

Surveillance is the monitoring of behavior, many activities, or information for the purpose of information gathering. In GCU, We are using  high resolution Network Camera .  Different brand of Camera are DAHUA, CP Plus, BOSCH. There are  180 CC camera installed in GCU Campus.

Multiple Entry and Exit Points In Consonance with NEP 2020.

Girijananda Chowdhury University adheres to the provisions of the NEP 2020 Act and the resultant Curriculum and Credit Framework For Undergraduate Programmes promulgated by the UGC. In the case of various undergraduate programmes in the university, students will be able to avail themselves of the opportunity for Multiple Entry and Exit Points. A student who chooses to exit after completion of the first year (2 semesters) and has secured 40 credits will be awarded a “UG Certificate” if she/he additionally completes one vocational course of 4 credits during the summer vacation of the first year. The student will be allowed to re-enter the degree programme within three years and complete the degree programme within the stipulated maximum period of seven years.

A “UG Diploma” will be awarded to a student who exits after completing the second year (4 semesters) by securing 80 credits, and if, in addition, she/he completes one vocational course of 4 credits during the summer vacation of the second year. The student will be allowed to re-enter within a period of three years and complete the degree programme within a maximum period of seven years.

A student who successfully completes a 3-year (6 semesters) UG programme will be awarded a 3-year UG Degree in the Major discipline after securing the specified 120 credits.

A 4-year UG Honours degree in the major discipline will be awarded to a student who completes a four-year (8 semesters) degree programme by securing minimum 160 credits.

A student will be awarded a 4-year UG Degree (Honours with Research) if she/he secures minimum 160 credits in a four-year (8 semesters) degree programme, including 12 credits from a research project/dissertation. In order to pursue research in the fourth year, a student has to obtain 75% marks and above in the first six semesters. The research will have to be undertaken in the major discipline.

The students who exit with Certificate, Diploma and Basic Bachelor Degree shall be eligible to re-enter the programme at the exit level to complete the next level. The total duration for completing the programme shall not exceed 7 years. Students who are unable to complete a course of study within the time specified for the programme, may be allowed an extension of another 1 year with special approval from the Vice Chancellor of the university.

Industry Oriented Curriculum in line with NEP 2020.

With a curriculum that takes the NEP 2020 Act as its building base, Girijananda Chowdhury University is committed to facilitate industry-oriented research for the students to actualize a productive outcome. The NEP 2020 broadly stresses on a flexible and multidisciplinary course structure that will help the learners to acclimatize themselves in the contemporary epoch that sees new industrial and technological developments everyday and demands individuals with multifaceted skills. In harmony with the provisions enshrined in the NEP 2020 Act, the university, through its various programmes of study, will stress on promoting internship opportunities with local industries. As emphasized in the NEP 2020, the university is committed to focus on research and innovation by establishing start-up incubation centres, technology development centres, and centres in frontier areas of research in order to boost industry-academic linkages. The university also lays a strong emphasis on vocational courses which will be disseminated in consultation and partnership with industries and NGOs. This emphasis is in consonance with Clause 6 of Chapter 16 of the NEP 2020 Act which states that MHRD will constitute a National Committee for the Integration of Vocational Education (NCIVE) that will consist of experts in vocational education and representatives from across Ministries, in collaboration with industry, to oversee this effort. As NEP 2020 envisions to set up a National Research Foundation (NRF), one of the objectives of which will be to sustain collaborative research between Industrial Organizations and Higher Educational Institutions, the university too will facilitate joint undertaking of research as well as cooperation between industrial professionals and students.

ATM (Automated Teller Machine) Facility in the GCU Campus : Any Time Money.

The Azara campus of Girijananda Chowdhury University has a State Bank of India ATM within its premises. The ATM provides round-the-clock banking services to the university. The faculty members, staff, and students of the university, which include both the day-scholars and the ones who reside in the campus’ hostels, avail themselves of the ATM facility for withdrawing cash and other banking-related activities.
