In honour of International Sign Language Week, the Department of Psychology and Sociology and Social Work, Girijananda Chowdhury University, in collaboration with the Assam Association of the Deaf, hosted a Sign Language Awareness Campaign on September 19, 2023. Our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kandarpa Das, extended a warm welcome to our guests from the North East College of Hearing Impaired, fostering collaboration and unity in empowering the deaf community.
The day was filled with inspiration with captivating dance performances by deaf students, a session on basic sign language teaching, and our beloved State Anthem of Assam performed in sign language.
