Internal Hackathon for AICTE, Smart India Hackathon

Azara, September 23: Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a nationwide initiative to provide students with a platform to foster a culture of product innovation and a problem-solving mindset. To shortlist the teams for this event, Mr. Adarsh Pradhan, SPOC, Girijananda Chowdhury Guwahati (GCU), in coordination with the Programming Club, conducted an Internal Hackathon on the 23rd of September 2023, in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, GCU. A total of 36 students, comprising 6 teams, from the Departments of Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Application participated in the event. “An App-based solution for the wool sector (Ministry of Textiles)”, “Self- identifying the mental health status and get guidance for support (Government of Gujarat)”, “Chatbot to respond to text queries about various Acts, Rules, and Regulations applicable to Mining industries (Ministry of Coal)”, and other problem statements were among those to which the students offered solutions. The judges interrogated, probed, and scrutinized the competing teams, and five have been shortlisted, who will get the opportunity to participate in the 6th edition of SIH- 2023, which will be organized by the Ministry of Education, AICTE.
