The NCC Coy unit of Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam bade farewell to the outgoing Commanding Officer (CO) Col Arun Prakash Agarwal of 7 Assam Battalion NCC Dhubri on 2nd September 2025 at Guwahati campus. The event started with the welcome of the commanding officer and his enlightening speech attended by the two batches of cadets of GCU and 1 batch of cadets from Shrimanta Shankar Academy Senior Secondary School, Dispur comprising 54 cadets. The CO thanked and offered gratitude to the University for its proactive role in all aspects of NCC ever since its inception at the university just one year back.
It was followed by the gratitude speech from GCU by the honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. Kandarpa Das. The CO was accompanied by the Subedar Major from the same battalion. The Colonel was presented by memento and gifts from GCU by the honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. Kandarpa Das. He was also presented by gifts from the authorities of SSA Dispur and the cadets of GCU. The event was also glamoured by the presence of Wing Commander H. Upadhaya, Commanding Officer of 50 Assam Battalion NCC, Guwahati. Finally, GCU bade the CO of 7 Assam Battalion NCC to his next destination and wishes him all the best ahead.
