To enhance and develop their technical and inter-personal skill, the department organizes Industrial tours and excursions. In the last few years, the students of the department have visited ISRO (Thiruvananthapuram), NESAC (ISRO) – Shillong, SAMEER – Guwahati, Kolkata & Puri, Omega Electronics – Jaipur, and RMC – Guwahati as part of Industrial visits and excursions.
October 2011:
The First Industrial Visit started with the batch of 2008-2012 to NESAC (Shillong). The visit was attended by 38 students and 6 faculties of this Department. [Coordinator: Mr. Alokojjwal Das]
January 2013:
The Second Industrial Visit was held for the batch of 2009-2013 to SAMEER (Kolkata). The visit was attended by 47 students of this Department and 3 faculties from the Institute. [Coordinator: Mr. Alokojjwal Das]
March 2014:
The Third Industrial Visit was held for the batch of 2010-2014 to NESAC (Shillong). The visit was attended by 64 students and 5 faculties of this Department. [Coordinator: Mr. Abhinandan Kalita]
January 2016:
The Fourth Industrial Visit was held for the batch of 2012-2016 to ISRO (Thiruvananthapuram). The visit was attended by 45 students of this Department and 2 faculties from the Institute. [Coordinator: Mr. Alokojjwal Das]
March 2017:
The Fifth Industrial Visit was held for the batch of 2013-2017 to NESAC (Shillong) on 30th March 2017. The visit was attended by 97 students and 6 faculties of this Department. [Coordinator: Mr. Abhinandan Kalita]
January 2018:
The Sixth Industrial Visit was held from 4th to 13th January 2018 for the batch of 2014-2018 to Rajasthan with a visit to Omega Electronics, Jaipur on 8th January 2018. The visit was attended by 16 students of this Department and 2 faculties from the Institute. [Coordinator: Mr. Alokojjwal Das]

The Eighth Industrial Visit was organized to SAMEER (Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research), IIT Guwahati on 3rd June, 2022. The visit was attended by 21 students of different semesters of the department of ECE (batches: 2018 – 22, 2019 – 23, 2020 – 24, and 2021 – 25) with 3 faculties of the Department. The Nineth Industrial Visit was organized to Regional Meteorological Center, Guwahati on 23rd March 2023. Tenth Industrial visit was organized to Central Tool Room and Training Center (CTTC) of the Ministry of Medium Small and Micro Enterprises at Bhubaneshwar, Odisha during 12th – 18th March 2024 for the batch 2020-24. They were exposed to exploration of the latest developments, innovations, and challenges in Indian industries and the state of the art in technological advancements in the fields of Robotics, IoT and Process control in the present scenario of Industry 4.0. Eleventh industrial visit was organized to Technology Innovation Hub (TIH), IIT – Guwahati on 06.05.2024 for the batches 2021-25, 2022-26 and 2023-27.
