Department of Chemistry, Girijananda Chowdhury University successfully organized a Five-Day Meeting for the preparation of the Learner’s Glossary of Chemistry (English-Assamese) during 25-29 August 2025 under the aegis of the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Experts and resource persons from different institutions, colleges and universities of Assam participated in the meeting. Assistant Director (Subjects), Mercy Lalrohluo Hmr, CSTT, New Delhi was present in the meeting as a representative of the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology. Notable resource persons present in the meeting were Professor Mausumi Ganguly, Department of Chemistry, Cotton University, Dr. Prahash Chandra Sarma, Retired Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Cotton University, Dr. Purabi Sarmah, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Nalbari College, Dr. Gitimoni Deka, Retired Associate Professor Department of Chemistry, Rangia College, Rangia, Dr. Utpal Saikia, Assistant Professor, Department of Assamese, Kalabari College, Gohpur and Dr. Sanchay Jyoti Bora, Principal & Associate Professor Pandu College, Guwahati. The meeting was coordinated by Dr. Nirmala Devi, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Girijananda Chowdhury University.
