Department of Chemistry, Girijananda Chowdhury University celebrated World Water Day on March 22, 2025, with great enthusiasm, aligning with the global theme “Glacier Preservation.”
The head of the department, Dr Swarnali Pathak inaugurated the event with an insightful speech on Glacier Preservation and its importance. Additionally, faculty members Dr. Kajal Dutta and Dr Nirmala Devi highlighted the importance of water in human life and the earths atmosphere. All the teaching and non-teaching staff members of the department were present in the event.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the critical role glaciers play in sustaining freshwater resources and the urgent need for their conservation in the face of climate change. As part of the celebration, a Digital Poster Presentation session was organized among the students, encouraging them to creatively depict the significance of saving water and its impact on global water security.
