Ms. Mousumi Sultana

Ms. Mousumi Sultana is currently serving as a Lecturer at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam. She holds an academic background in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in Pharmacology. Her  professional engagements include teaching and mentoring students, as well as active involvement in research and academic activities. Her areas of interest encompass experimental pharmacology, toxicology, and drug discovery and Network pharmacology with a focus on advancing preclinical research and pharmaceutical education.

Ms. Mousumi Sultana completed her Master of Pharmacy (Pharmacology) from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Girijananda Chowdhury University, Guwahati. She obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Assam Down Town University, where she maintained a strong academic record.

Her research interests are primarily focused on Hepatoprotective , phytopharmacology, oxidative stress–mediated disorders, and the evaluation of bioactive phytoconstituents for the prevention and management of drug-induced toxicities. Her academic pursuits emphasize experimental pharmacology and the scientific exploration of plant-derived compounds for therapeutic applications.

Ms. Mousumi Sultana has actively participated in numerous academic training programmes, workshops, seminars, and scientific conferences aimed at enhancing her professional and research competencies. She has participated and presented a poster in Internation conference at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Guwahati, which provided advanced exposure to contemporary pharmaceutical research and development practices.

In addition, she has gained valuable industrial experience through professional training at APY Pharma Limited, where she acquired practical knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC), and regulatory compliance. These experiences have strengthened her understanding of the integration of academic research with industrial pharmaceutical 

In Addition to that She has 2 month Experience of Hospital training  at Azara 30 bedded Rural Hospital where she had acquired necessary knowledge and experience of Dispensing Pharmacy, experience in Prescription handling ,Patient counseling under supervision of registered Pharmacist.  

Ms. Mousumi Sultana is actively engaged in research focusing on Hepatoprotective 

interventions, phytochemical characterization, pharmacological screening, and the evaluation of the therapeutic potential of medicinal plants and their bioactive phytoconstituents. Her M. Pharm  research aims to explore natural product–based approaches for the prevention and management of disease conditions, particularly those associated with oxidative stress and drug-induced toxicities.

Ms. Mousumi Sultana is a versatile professional with experience in pharmaceutical quality control, retail sales management, and education. She has expertise in quality assurance, customer relationship management, team leadership, sales operations, and effective communication. As a Sales Manager at Decathlon Sports India, she contributed to sales growth, customer engagement, and team coordination. As a Teacher at St. Clare’s Convent High School, she fostered student development through effective classroom management, interactive teaching, and strong organizational skills.
